London 2012 Games ticketing
The London Assembly has been investigating the ticketing strategy for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Based on comments on this forum and our public meeting with expert guests, the Assembly has now submitted its views to the Games organising committee. You can view the submission on our website here:

80% of tickets should be available to the public
Seemingly the best seats for the best events will be handed over to corporate sponsors, surely the London Assembly should ensure a minimum of 80% of all tickets to all events are available to the public

Ticket holders should be allowed to re-sell tickets should they wish
Like anything else in the world if you want to sell something that is yours, NO ONE should stop you.

Ministers and UK VIPs should pay for their own tickets
Given that members of the public should pay for tickets, and Londoners are paying for the Olympics it seems only fair that members of the Government and other 'VIPs' should pay their way as well. Any free tickets given should be registered and the recipients names published so we can see who got them.

Olympics should accept any credit/debit card, not just Visa
The Olympic ticket site states that it will only accept Visa, in recognition of Visa's support of the Games.
